I'm envious of that travel itinerary Flavio! Istanbul is definitely on my list. May you have safe and happy travels. Also, congratulations to you and your fiance on the engagement and future wedding. Cheers!

Currently in Puerto Vallarta, back to the US for two weeks at the end of March, then to San Miguel de Allende for three months, back to the US for two weeks again, then off to China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. All for varied reasons!

Very much envious of you guys Michael! Hope to reach that state of globetrotting one day. Happy ventures to you and Brent. Cheers! 😊

1. Where: currently in Vietnam. Next is Cambodia, Bali, Istanbul so far...then Europe.

2. How long? Ahh, good question. Some places have visa limits so I have exit tickets. I'm leaving things open. No end date.

3. Why? Because it's time. Because it's destiny and so much more. I did write about this topic in a newsletter. Many reasons.

Cheers ☮️

Soon on our way to a teeny town on the French Mediterranean, where we’ve gone for the last 22 years, then to Brussels, Belgium to see my brother and my homeland, then to Paris, one of our second cities. All places dear to our hearts, all places that feel like home.

That sounds lovely Rachel! Thank you for sharing. Safe and happy travels! 😊

Hi Rachel! What teeny town is that? Or is it a secret for now?

We dream of a one week trip to Patagonia combined with a week in and around Buenos Aires. We hope to experience the spectacular natural beauty of Patagonia along with the vibrant culture of Buenos Aires.

My husband and I are currently in Huaraz, Peru. From here we will travel down through the mountains by public transportation to Cusco - a little different route than most people take. Then from Cusco to Lima where we will probably fly out to either meet up with friends traveling in SA or back to the US to build out a camper van and continue our travels. We had a van before and miss the life. Backpacking has been great but I want my own traveling home.

We have been in SA since June to improve our Spanish. We are getting much better! Today we did lots of shopping and communicated with many people in Spanish! It has been a wild trip!

We are full time nomads and don't plan to stop anytime soon.

That is awesome! I love hearing where everyone is traveling. It’s so…well all over the map. Haha. Thanks for sharing this Duwan and safe and happy travels!

I’m hoping to take a rather less glamorous trip than all the above - the Golden Triangle of motorways in the centre of Britain. I find travel close to home deeply rewarding and exploring strange overlooked corners even more so. Britain’s economy relies on this traffic heavy intersection of roads so I’m going to check it out. Think Hawaii sounds more pleasant though I must admit…

I consider anything that keeps us moving and exploring a worthy endeavor. Lately, and especially with having children, I’ve been reflecting on all the types of adventures I can be doing close to home rather than far away and really finding myself enjoying all there is to do right out my back door. Thanks for sharing this Nico! 😊

Kauai, Hawaii. two separate 10 day stretches, March into April. We just love it there, Waimea canyon, and the ocean. Quiet. warm.

Oh man Kauai is fantastic! We love it too and can’t wait until we can get back. We visited O’ahu last year and had great time but found Kauai more laid back and loved the hiking and kayaking there. Enjoy your travels there Marty!

We continue to be in 'our travel era' and have just returned from Costa Rica (to the hotel we owned for 5 years), and we will be going to Cape Town and Botswana, and a river cruise starting in Prague and visiting German and French cities to end in Paris (my first time there!). Husband has a week long Yellowstone backcountry trip planned while I go to maybe Quebec City with my daughter. Some short visits to US cities to visit friends along the way. Varying lengths of time and reasons but love to wander and explore! I think life's too short not too (and I feel blessed that I'm able to!)

That’s a fantastic mixed bag of places! All sound so wonderful. We’re eyeing a roadtrip to Quebec City in the next couple of years as well and hope to get back to Paris for a longer stint than we had in the past. Thanks for sharing this Marlo. May your travels be safe and adventurous. Cheers!

I'm not sure of exactly where I'll be wandering next, but hopefully I'll be taking a mini-road trip into through some of the central France's quite obscure mid-sized towns. I've lived in France for over 30 years, and escaping to explore this type of place has become my passion and, indeed, the theme of my Substack publication. One feeds into the other nicely.

Great questions! My aspirations are endless, but for what comes next I need to focus on what is achievable in my circumstances. Right now I'm looking at thru hiking the Bartram Trail. Its a 100+ mile trail going through North Georgia and ending on Cheoah Bald in Western North Carolina. I'm familiar with the backpacking, but this will be the first time I have to figure out a stop in town for a re-supply mid way through. I'm hoping to do this in late March or early April in about 7 days.

Why? Now that is a bottomless question! To connect with nature, to learn about myself, for the challenge, for photography, because most people wouldn't do it. Those answers just scratch the surface.

Oh that sounds awesome Erik! I remember reading about William Bartram but wasn’t aware there was a trail in his namesake. Those are some excellent reasons too. You reminded me that I could be doing some local thru hikes in Indiana. We have the Knobstone and Tecumseh Trails here and we did about 20+ miles of the Tecumseh years ago but now are trying to get our soon-to-be four year old to like hiking and camping so perhaps this fall we’ll venture out on that again.

Thanks for sharing and happy wandering on that trail. I’ll look for a post from you about your ventures there. Would love to read about it. Cheers!

Ha! I took my kids on many camping adventures starting at about that age! It doesn't get any better than that!

I'm looking forward to writing about and photographing the trip almost as much as just hiking it. I can't wait!

My husband and I are currently in Vienna, Austria. We are here for 5 weeks in order to have eye operations. (I need cataract surgery, and he needs a much more complicated surgery.)

The level of medical care is very high in Austria, and we are both insured here. If all goes well, we'll return to Ireland in mid-March.

I'm sorry to hear about your surgeries Clarice. May you and your husband have a speedy recovery. I recall reading one of your posts on the coffeehouses in Vienna a while back and now I often find myself daydreaming of visiting...I hope you both can find some time for respite while there. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your best wishes, Justin. I really appreciate them. We have left ourselves time--both before and after the operations--to visit family and friends as well as our favorite restaurants! And the coffeehouses are really fun. Hopefully you can visit some day.

We are mid-way through our stays in several South American cities—currently in Buenos Aires but headed, via a 1-way cruise on the NCL Star—to Ushuaia where we will be for two weeks. We chose Ushuaia because we were there for 1 day on a 31 day LA to Rio cruise back in 2016. Our 7-mile walk through the peat bogs was remarkably fun. While we can’t do 7 miles again, we want to explore the countryside a bit. We also want to see some penguins and hope to pick up some local day-trips to an island or two. We have anti-FOMO about the Drake Passage! Thanks for asking!

This sounds so wonderful! I hadn't heard of Ushuaia but it looks really beautiful there. I hope to one day go backpacking in Argentina. Thanks for sharing this! Happy and safe travels! :)
