The acts of leaving and returning on a journey often serve as convenient bookends to our travels in our minds but on closer inspection largely come to define our traveling experiences.
Very interesting post! Sometimes I like more the travelling itself, by train, plane or whatever than the experience I will have doesn't matter where I am going, so sometimes I'm just leaving.
Thanks! Up until recently I found it difficult to be all that enthused with plane travel...there was too much that was cause for anxiety, but the first time I traveled by train in Italy I really enjoyed that experience.
Justin, you've written another interesting post. In my experience, the departure journey is sometimes the beginning of the travel adventure while at other times it is a hassle to be endured before the fun begins. On another note, I've been fortunate to have enjoyed multiple travel experiences that exceeded my expectations. It's almost as if I envision the upcoming adventure in two dimensional black and white. Then I experience the adventure in three dimensional color.
